180 Studios is offering Jewelry Making with Nancy Wintrup.
This is a class in beginning technical jewelry fabrication. Learn proper filing and sawing techniques. Master the use of the flex shaft; do soldering and torch work.
We will be working with brass, bronze, copper and some sterling silver, learning to construct a ring, a pendant and more.
Feel free to bring in your personal projects which we will address as time permits
This series has 5 total classes. By the 3rd week students in this class should be able to work on their own projects in the jewelry lab outside of class.

Nancy Wintrup received a BFA from Kent State University, Ohio.
Upon moving to San Francisco, through IJWU Local 36, (that's the International Jewelry Workers Union) she apprenticed at Van Wormer & Rodrigues Jewelry Manufacturers, earning her Journeymanship there.
She opened her own studio, N J Wintrup, in 1981, at the Phelan Bldg. in San Francisco, as a repair and restoration jeweler to the trades. It was in operation for 32 years.
She began teaching at a Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in 1999, along with operating her studio, and was an instructor there for 18 years, until it's closure in December, 2017.
Nancy earned her fourth level masters and is a Certified JA Master Jeweler.
She has done extensive tool testing for DRT, Del Rey Tools, a newly formed wholesale jewelry tool & supply company out of LA, whose products are carried by companies such as Rio Grande.
She now teaches workshop classes, gives private project specific instruction, and works on a variety of jobs at her bench.
