180 Studios presents a new type of welding class. Tig welding brought to you by Virginia Harrison. In this class you will learn the basics of tig welding, from welding 2 pieces of metal together. Practicing angle welds, and grinding.
One of the greatest advantages of TIG welding is the amount of control it allows. A welder can control heat and amperage with precision using a foot or thumb remote control switch. The TIG welder is thin, which adds to the control a welder with excellent dexterity can have over the process.
Great for art or industrial applications.
No welding experience necessary, this can be your starting point into the world of welding.
Virginia Harrison grew up in Colorado and moved with her husband and children to Sonoma County in 1979. She worked for Bagley and Hotchkiss Jewelers for 4 years as a finisher and stone setter, as well as fabricating her own designs. She completed the welding course at Santa Rosa Junior College and received her BFA at Sonoma State University. Working at Bronze Plus Foundry for 13 years she specialized in welding, chasing and casting. During that time, she created Memory Markers Custom Bronze Plaques and Woven Bronze Studios. Her sculptures have been shown throughout the US and Europe and she is excited to share her knowledge of welding and sculpting at the 180 Studios.
