About the class:
This class will introduce jewelry craft methods and tools to students in a classroom setting under direction from a professional jeweler with more than 40 years of experience.
Through guided projects and skill building demonstrations, students will develop skills that will allow them to further pursue jewelry making as a hobby or career.
Students will create one or two pieces during the class, depending on any previous experience they may have. Each piece they make will involve various techniques designed to educate them in design and fabrication, and that they can use on their own, as they continue to develop new skills. Jewelry 1 is a fabrication class where flat non ferrous metals are sawn, filed, hammered, shaped, soldered, and polished by hand.
Graduates from this class will be able to take Sam's new Jewelry Intermediate class.
