Advanced Laser: Rotary + Metal Marking

Class Description: This is a 2nd-level class, for members who are already using the BOSS/WEIKE Laser. If you’re not a monthly member, you can still sign-up if you’re using a multi-visit pack. Learn how to prepare your files & the proper engraving techniques. Glass & Metal require different settings than typical engraving of Wood & Acrylic. The Rotary Attachment will also be taught, so you can start engraving cylindrical objects after taking this class. CorelDraw software will be used throughout the class, with 10min hands-on time for each student.

Prerequisites
Intro to Laser class
Students must be 16+.
If you haven’t taken the "Intro to Laser" class, then please wait to sign-up until after you’ve completed that class, and booked 1-2+ sessions yourself on the lasers, to be familiar with the software + process. This class will be fast-paced, to get through the material & give each of the 6 students a chance to engrave rotary + metal samples. Come prepared, and somewhat familiar with CorelDraw or Inkscape vector design software.

Materials: Bring a USB thumb drive to save the sample design files to. OPTIONAL: Bring your own round, glass bottle or pint glass; if you’d like to take home a glass engraved sample. A small metal marked keychain will be included as the other example take-away.

Class Minimum: This class will not run with fewer than 2 students.

Class Maximum: 6 students
