Class Schedule: This is a 1.5 hour class, held once a month. Contact us for other scheduling needs.
Class Description: This is a 2nd-level class, for members who have already used the BOSS Laser at least once. If you're not a member, but have used other laser cutting machines, for school/work then you're welcome to sign-up as well. Several sample files will be constructed: from simplistic text & polygons, to Bitmap tracing & path editing techniques. Learn how to prepare your files for the most efficient engrave time and optimal cutting/scoring. We'll also discuss online resources for free vector designs which can be easily modified. Inkscape is free open-source software--anyone can download and learn this tool on either Mac, PC, or Linux.
Prerequisites: Intro to BOSS Laser class Students must be 16+.
If you're not familiar with vector files, or have never used any of the commercial drawing programs like CorelDraw / Illustrator, then this class will be too fast-paced to keep up.
Materials: Bring a USB thumb drive to save the sample design files to. PCs provided in our classroom, but if you prefer to bring your own laptop--make sure Inkscape is loaded and working, prior to the start of class.
Class Minimum: This class will not run with fewer than 2 students.
Class Maximum: 4 students
