MIG welding is one of the simplest and most common welding processes used today. In this 5 hour crash course individuals will be introduced to metal shop safety practices, before diving into the fundamentals of Metal Inert Gas welding and a variety of its applications, from automotive to industrial metal working.
By the end of the session, participants can expect to understand how to safely set up a MIG welding machine, and successfully join two pieces of steel together using this welding process. A pen and paper are recommended, as we will be discussing important safety issues and a variety of welding techniques and applications.
Safety glasses and ear plugs are required along with close-toed shoes, long pants, and long sleeves free of rips, holes and grease. Leather or cotton is ideal, (jeans and a thick flannel are a good option), avoid synthetics like polyester and fleece.
