Chad is hosting a BOSS LS-1630 Laser Cutter/Engraver meet-up, focused on Q&A about materials.
We’ll go over typical power/speed settings for doing clean cuts, shallow depth vector ‘scoring’, and engraving with finishing fills. CorelDraw will be used for demonstrating the design techniques, but Illustrator or Inkscape files are do-able if that’s the format you have available. Time permitting, we’ll go over some tips on working with bitmap images—i.e. how the tracing functions of the software can help versus hinder getting your raster content into vectors that burn well on the BOSS. Bring your sample materials or design files on a USB drive to the FabLab, for a peer-group style discussion.
Please RSVP on , so we know who to expect and, if you have questions, please let us know.
